How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your WishDay account directly from the app. Follow these steps:

1. Open the WishDay app on your device.
2. Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right).
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
4. Select a reason for leaving (helps us improve).
5. Tap Permanently Delete Account to confirm.

Your account and all associated data will be deleted immediately. This action cannot be undone.

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

• Account information — your email address, display name, and authentication credentials
• Occasions — all birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions you added
• Generated messages — all AI-generated messages and message templates
• Subscription data — your subscription status and purchase history within WishDay
• Usage data — generation counts and usage tracking
• Notification history — all reminder and notification logs
• Feedback and screenshots — any feedback you submitted, including uploaded images
• Preferences — notification settings, reminder times, and app preferences

What Data Is Retained

• Deletion feedback — the reason you selected for deleting your account is kept anonymously to help us improve the service. No personally identifiable information is retained with this feedback.
• App Store / Google Play purchases — subscription purchase records managed by Apple or Google are outside our control. To cancel an active subscription, visit your device's subscription settings before deleting your account.
• Aggregated analytics — anonymized, non-identifiable usage statistics (e.g., total user counts) are not deleted as they cannot be traced back to you.

Retention Period

All personally identifiable data is deleted immediately upon account deletion. There is no waiting period or recovery window. Backups in our database provider (Supabase/AWS) are purged within 30 days as part of their standard retention cycle.

Important Notes

• Subscriptions: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription with Apple or Google. Please cancel your subscription in your device settings before deleting your account to avoid being charged.
• Irreversible: Account deletion is permanent. You will not be able to recover your occasions, messages, or any other data.
• New account: You may create a new WishDay account after deletion, but none of your previous data will be available.
